Mental Health and Suicide Concerns: Strengthening the Safety Net in Our Communities

     OnSITE Training

A Program for Schools and First Responders

Communities are highly encouraged to attend as a team for maximum effectiveness

One-half of all lifetime diagnosable mental health conditions begin by the age of 14 and one in five adolescents in this country shows significant symptoms of emotional distress, with nearly 10% having symptoms that impair everyday functioning.

While many schools have school psychologists, social workers, and/or counselors, proactive school districts recognize the value of a more comprehensive approach in which a community team approach is integrated into the school service array. Law enforcement officers along with school team members play an important role in identifying and responding to students at risk and connecting them with much needed help.

Primex3 has partnered with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI NH) to provide a community and team based program focused on expanding the community safety net and protecting our children. This program is targeting a true team approach where school administrators, resource officers, psychologists, guidance counselors and any other members of the school crisis response team works proactively and collaboratively with the first responders in the community with the final goal of protecting our children’s’ well being and creating a safe environment.

The realities of today’s workforce, including the status of Baby Boomers (if and when they will retire), generational diversity associated with what workers desire in the workplace, and the fact that the public sector is attracting fewer workers, demonstrate the need to develop the people who will someday hold leadership positions at any level of an organization.  Formerly known as succession planning, succession development is a process that, when applied effectively, can ensure that future leaders are identified and prepared when an opportunity arises.
