This session will immerse participants into a full-blown community and media crisis to identify how and when critical information should be communicated during a simulated cyber-attack. Learn how to triage information, coordinate response to questions from the community and news media, and how to maximize social media and news media opportunities.

Cori Casey

Cori Casey is a Primex3 Risk Management Consultant with a focus on the cyber liability threats that members are facing. Cori is Certified in CybersecuritySM through (ISC)2 and works with members mitigating cyber risk. In addition, he works with schools and is a Certified Playground Safety Inspector through the National Recreation and Park Association. Cori also assists our law enforcement members having come to Primex3 with over 22 years working for the Concord, NH Police Department. He held the rank of Patrolman, Detective, Sergeant, and Lieutenant. Cori was the department’s lead firearm and driving instructor and taught Police Ethics at the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council’s Police Supervisor Course. Cori graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Justice Studies. He enjoys spending time with his wife Jessica and their three children outdoors and attending sporting events.
Jason Sgro

Leading NH’s largest dedicated municipal incident response team, Jason serves as Sr. Partner, Business Strategy, and Head of Cybersecurity & Human Privacy at The ATOM Group, headquartered in Portsmouth, NH. He is the President of the FBI InfraGard Program in NH, the Executive Director of the Overwatch Foundation, and serves as the Director of the NH Office for Cooperation in Cybersecurity. A lifelong native of New Hampshire, Jason is a strategist at heart, comprised of equal parts speaker, evangelist, coach, and operator. He has secured and advised public and private entities throughout New Hampshire and is widely recognized for his contributions toward building a future we can trust.
Ken Weeks

Ken Weeks is the Chief Information Security Officer for the State of New Hampshire. He spent most of his adult life as a Naval Officer, Special Duty, Cryptology and Information Warfare, and retired as a CAPT (O6). Although most of his time was spent in the Pacific Theater, he also enjoyed several all-inclusive trips to Somalia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. After the Navy, he worked as an Executive Leader of Cyber Operations at the National Security Agency (NSA). Ken spent a couple years in the private sector as a Consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton and then moved to New Hampshire and back into public service as the Department of IT Business Relationship Manager for the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services. Since he always works in rooms with no windows and under artificial lights, he spends the rest of his time as an avid four seasons outdoor sportsman with his spouse, teenagers and two Irish Wolfhounds.
Matt Ellis

Matt Ellis is an award-winning television news journalist, author and founder of Ellis Strategies, a strategic communications firm in Boston, Mass. The company provides expert public relations, crisis communication and video production.

Matt also provides expert media training and coaches professionals of all levels on how to be a better public speaker. Clients include scientists, educators, engineers and business leaders from across New England.

Starting as a morning anchor and one-man-band reporter at WVVA TV in Bluefield, West Virginia, Matt rose the ranks of TV News to assume positions as Executive Producer for WCBS TV, News Director for WBZ TV and Head Writer for “Good Morning America,” where he was part of the team honored with a George Foster Peabody Award for coverage of the attacks of September 11, 2001.

In 2017, he published “Don’t Just Say It: a News Director’s Practical Guide to Public Speaking,” which gives speakers at all levels tools to improve their performance and confidence.

Matt has been honored with an Emmy Award from the New England Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and was recognized for excellence by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Associated Press, the Public Relations Society of America and the Publicity Club of New England.
Rick Rossi

Rick Rossi is the Cybersecurity Advisor (CSA) for New Hampshire within the Integrated Operations Division, Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

CISA established ten regional offices across the country to improve the delivery of the department’s services to critical infrastructure owners and operators and state, local, tribal, and territorial partners. CSAs are the front-facing cyber experts supporting regional operations capabilities. Mr. Rossi manages the major cyber engagements in New Hampshire with additional support to New England states, championing cyber resilience to public and private sector partners through a multitude of engagements, promoting education and awareness, and performing risk assessments. He has been with the Department for more than 15 years, with his most recent prior assignment as an Intelligence Operations Specialist with the Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) where he served as the regional subject matter expert on Title 50 intelligence collection and reporting, cyber threat, as well as collection operations management for the New England DomDNI Region.

Rick's prior experience includes serving as the senior DHS Intelligence Officer to the state of New Hampshire, where he was responsible for supporting national and departmental intelligence missions and ensuring that relevant homeland security intelligence information was shared between the national Intelligence Community, DHS, other federal partners, and the state of New Hampshire. Mr. Rossi transitioned to CISA in 2021 as the first Cybersecurity Advisor for New Hampshire. In this capacity, he has leveraged his many previous federal, state, local, and private sector relationships within the state and region to further develop cyber risk mitigation efforts in New Hampshire. Mr. Rossi earned a Bachelors Degree (summa cum laude) from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a Master of Science of Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University. He also holds a Certificate in Legislative Studies from the Government Affairs Institute at Georgetown University. He currently holds active GCIH, GCTI, and CEH industry certifications, and is a member of the GIAC Advisory Board.
Timothy Benitez

Mr. Benitez serves as the Resident Agent in Charge of the Manchester Resident Office as of January 22, 2017. As RAIC, Mr. Benitez directs all investigative and protective strategies, addresses threats to both our nation’s financial infrastructure and our nation’s leaders in New Hampshire and Vermont. Tim has 24 years of law enforcement experience that includes assignments as an agent investigating cyber enabled financial fraud cases in NYC, managing the NYC Digital Forensics lab, and the management of a digital forensic incident response team in NH. In addition, he served as a member of the Presidential Protective Division from 2005-2010. Mr. Benitez is a graduate of Georgetown University and earned a master’s degree from Fordham University.
