This training series is designed for NEW supervisors.

Have you ever embarked on a road trip without a plan, fuel, or directions? Many supervisors do just that. Often promoted because they are good at their current job, they don’t start out in their new role with the essentials for the supervisory journey ahead. According to research conducted by Development Dimensions International (DDI), more than half of front-line supervisors promoted based upon their technical expertise were significantly deficient in leadership skills.

This program is designed to help the new supervisor:

  • Identify the key skills and mindset needed to be an effective manager
  • Become familiar with practices, procedures, hazards, and resources for successful supervision
  • Practice the skills and concepts through exercises and discussion
  • Establish a roadmap to develop the skills for continued success

Technical Requirements: Each participant needs to be able to access and navigate in an online environment requiring internet access, an email address, and the ability to function in a secure Zoom virtual meeting platform using a web camera.

Pre-Assignments: Each participant will complete a total of 5 online courses (approximately 1 hour each) prior to the start of the virtual sessions. There are 4 required online courses and one elective.
