What is the Primex3 Supervisors’ Academy?
Supervisors’ Academy is a challenging, three-day experience conducted by Primex3. Participants take an active role in the classroom as they learn about a broad range of immediately useful leadership topics. Seasoned Primex3 practitioners and instructors guide the participants through case studies and discussions to ensure that the learning objectives are achieved. To maximize the learning experience, class sizes are limited. Supervisors’ Academy is offered at no cost to Primex3 members in the Property & Liability program. When and Where is Supervisors’ Academy Held?
Supervisors’ Academy is held over three days and runs from from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. Supervisors’ Academy is offered six times a year and is held at the Primex3 Training Facility in Concord, unless otherwise noted. 2019 dates and times are as follows:

Sarah Cote
Sarah Cote is the Claims Manager, handling workers’ compensation claims since 1999. She joined Primex3 in 2001 handling workers compensation claims in the North Country, and in 2009 moved claims handling to the South and Southwest part of the state. In March 2019 she transitioned to Claims Manager. Sarah is the resident expert on the Second Injury Fund and enjoys collaborating with the claims team to provide excellent service and training to our membership.

Carl Weber
Carl Weber, Director of Member Services, is responsible for member account development, member growth, stability forecasts, strategic positioning, and management of the Member Services Department. Carl has worked in local government for more than ten years, most recently as the Town Administrator of Amherst, NH. Once upon a time he was a search-and-rescue swimmer for the US Navy. Carl holds Bachelors' Degrees in Political Science and Community Development and a Master's Degree in Public Policy. Carl is a Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst (CPBA) and Certified Professional Values Analyst (CPVA). Carl regularly teaches on human factors and the relationship of behavior and leadership styles, as well as motivation, coaching, leadership challenges, team building, and failing as a leader. He has a passion to help leaders in their lifelong journey to finish well, to combat and work with their inner voice, and to live a meaningful story worth reading.

David Bullock
David Bullock currently serves as the Claims and Coverage Consultant at Primex3. David is responsible for handling property and liability claims, providing human resource guidance for members and responding to coverage inquires. David has developed a specialized expertise in employment related claims. David recently received his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation and his SHRM Certified Professional designation. David previously worked as an Anti-Discrimination Investigator for the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights, the state agency charged with enforcing the state civil rights law in employment, housing, and public accommodations. David graduated from Ohio University receiving a Bachelor of Arts in English and History and from the University of New Hampshire receiving a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.

Elaine St. Jean
Elaine works with Primex3 instructors and external speakers to provide relevant learning experiences for our members and affiliate groups. She holds a B.S. in Organizational Development and a M.S. in in Leadership, and certificates in Organization Management, Kirkpatrick Four Levels® Evaluation, and Creating Leadership Development Programs. Elaine’s past experience includes program development, instructional design, event management, and public relations. She is an adjunct faculty for some New England-based colleges. In her spare time Elaine has produced, directed, and acted in community and professional theatre and enjoys kayaking, sailing, hiking, and sports.

Jennifer Brennan
Jennifer Brennan is the Communications & Projects Manager at Primex, where she has been a part of the team since 2010. Over the years, Jennifer has supported several departments, including Risk Management Services, Education & Training, and Executive Services. In her current role, Jennifer collaborates with teams organization-wide to craft impactful messaging that addresses both immediate and strategic needs. She also leads, organizes, and executes short- and long-term projects that drive the organization’s success, ensuring goals are met efficiently and effectively.
Jennifer holds dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Journalism and English with a minor in Political Science from the University of Connecticut. She also earned her Master of Business Administration from Plymouth State University and a Project Management Certification from Cornell University.
Outside of her work at Primex, Jennifer is deeply passionate about fitness and wellness. She channels this passion as a personal trainer and health coach, helping others achieve their goals.

Mary Beth Purcell
Mary Beth Purcell is the Primex3 Director of Claims. She oversees the Worker’s Compensation and Property & Liability Claims Departments. She joined Primex3 in August 2002 after working for a commercial carrier for ten years. She has developed special expertise in handling public entity claims. Mary Beth has attained her Associate in Claims and Senior Claims Law Associate designation. Mary Beth enjoys teaching part of the Supervisor’s Academy. She is a graduate of Merrimack College. Mary Beth is also a graduate of the Primex3 Emerging Leaders Program.

Rick Alpers
Rick Alpers, Senior Executive Services Consultant, is a graduate of Plymouth State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Management and a minor in history. Prior to joining the Primex3 team, he was a former Town Administrator and is a former member of the Board of Selectmen in Bristol, NH. In his current role as Member Services Manager, Rick is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to Primex3 members. In that capacity, he regularly engages with members to ensure Primex is meeting the needs of the membership, plus assists the member services team with their day to day responsibilites. He also assists members in team building, goal setting, mission and vision crafting and behavioral assessments.

Sandy Burroughs
Sandy Burroughs, Risk Management Consultant, joined Primex3 as a Risk Management Consultant in October 2001. Sandy’s primary responsibility is providing management related training and consulting services to Primex3’s school district and county members. Sandy was formerly with ManagedComp of Waltham, MA and Bedford, NH as a Senior Health and Safety Consultant. She has over 20 years of experience in the risk management field providing health and safety related training and consulting services to clients and has earned the Certified Risk Manager (CRM) and Certified School Risk Manager (CSRM) designations through the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research. Her areas of expertise include workers’ compensation, general liability and playground safety.
