This training is located at

Concord Parks & Rec Center, 14 Canterbury Road in Concord, NH.

This is a two-part training session:

The first half of the program is classroom instruction, discussion, and demonstration on how proper technique must be used. The statutory authority for crossing guards is outlined, defining the crossing guard’s authority under the law. Emphasis will be placed on the equipment and techniques required to be an effective and safe crossing guard. The classroom discussion also involves several traffic related scenarios as well as dealing with student safety, handicapped students, driver inattention, and special crosswalk concerns such as trip & fall hazards and weather-related concerns.

The second half of the class requires all students to perform all exercises 100% correctly. Each student by way of a number accountability system must perform a series of crossing guard evolutions.

Attendees will:

  • Recognize their statutory authority under the law
  • Employ techniques for compliance with NH State Statutes relating to crossing guards.
  • Demonstrate the proper methods for controlling traffic at school crossings to protect themselves, the students, and the motoring public at 100% competency.

.3 CEUs will be awarded for successful completion of this program.
