This training session provides participants with essential tools to recognize, assess, and respond effectively to aggressive behavior in professional environments. The session explores common triggers that lead to escalation, the stages of verbal and crisis continuums, and practical techniques for maintaining control and safety. Participants will also learn how to use techniques and methods to address conflict constructively and redirect challenging behavior before it escalates.

 Learning Objectives:

  • Identify major triggers to aggression and early warning signs.
  • Differentiate between the levels of the verbal escalation continuum and appropriate responses at each level.
  • Employ effective techniques and methods to manage and de-escalate verbal and physical aggression.

    Ed Samson

    Edward Samson, Risk Management Consultant, has been a member of the Primex3 Risk Management Services Department since 2025. Ed joined Primex3after serving 25 years in New Hampshire Law Enforcement, retiring as Chief of Police and Emergency Management Director for the Town of Whitefield. Ed is a Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI), in Conflict Management (CMT High Conflict Influencer (HCI) and is the Risk Management Consultant for municipalities in Coos and Grafton Counties.

    Nicole Armaganian

    Nicole joined Primex in 2018 with a focus on working with members to address their training, consulting, and risk management needs.  She has initiated and presented numerous programs related to leadership development.  Nicole holds industry designations such as Associate Risk Manager (ARM), Certified Workplace Mediator and Trainer in Conflict Management (CMT), designation in Emotional Intelligence/Quotient (EQ) and High Conflict Influencer (HCI), and is a Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI).

    Nicole is a 22-year veteran of law enforcement and retired from the New Hampshire State Police as a Lieutenant serving as Troop Commander of Troop G.  She is a graduate of UNH and lives in Concord with her husband and two daughters where she is also the Concord High School Varsity Field Hockey Coach.
