In this interactive session, we’ll discuss the advantages of employee handbooks and identify those policies employers must have, as well as those that may be unlawful and actually create unnecessary liability. Attendees will be given practical information to develop an employee handbook and implement the policies. The information presented will help insulate employers against expensive and time-consuming litigation.  We will also discuss policies necessitated by COVID-19.

    Thomas M. Closson is a Principal in the Portsmouth, New Hampshire, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Hehas been practicing labor and employment law since his admission to the New Hampshire Bar in 1993. Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, he was a founder and partner in Flygare, Schwarz & Closson, PLLC, a highly regarded firm specializing in labor and employment law. Mr. Closson has extensive trial experience. During his career, he has successfully represented numerous clients before New Hampshire Courts and juries. Mr. Closson is also an experienced appellate litigator. He has argued, and won, significant cases before the New Hampshire Supreme Court.
