Hands-On Confined Space Entry

 

Note: Participants are encouraged to bring appropriate PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, work gloves and safety shoes) for the hands-on exercises. 

 

This training goes beyond the rules set out by the NH Department of Labor regarding working in confined spaces, by training participants to the OSHA Standard 1910.146 Permit Required Confined Spaces. Participants will be trained to recognize serious health and safety hazards such as engulfment, internal configuration, and hazardous atmospheres. Participants shall learn how to control or eliminate these hazards, allowing them to work more safely in confined spaces. 

 

Training requirements for workers exposed to confined spaces will be covered, as well as required documentation to ensure worker safety. Equipment necessary for safe confined space work will be reviewed, and the session concludes with hands-on entry/retrieval exercises.
