Maintaining personnel files can be cumbersome and confusing. What goes in? What stays out? Who has access? Then of course, once an employee leaves, how long are you supposed to hold onto the contents of their file?
Although it’s typical for the HR Department to hold the primary responsibility for record-keeping and retention/disposal of employment-related records, we know there are still a number of organizations where supervisors and managers play an active role in creating and retaining employment records. This training is meant to demystify the employee personnel file as well as the record-keeping requirements that come with them. Join us as we review state and federal regulations governing employer record-keeping and retention.

-
Discuss essential aspects of managing employee records

Explain how to maintain accurate and organized personnel files
-
