This program addresses the health and safety aspects of plowing snow. Participants will examine the factors that lead to accidents and injuries (e.g. failing to plan the route; lack of sleep) and will discuss ways to prevent them.
Learning objectives for this course are:
- Highlight the leading injury causes, and associated control measures, for plow operators.
- Learn the importance, from a worker safety standpoint, of pre-planning the plow route
- Identify how sleep and dietary factors can affect the health and safety of plow operators.
- Understand the public relations aspects of plowing and snow removal.
Who Should Attend: Employees and their supervisors, up to and including department heads, who are responsible for snow plowing and snow removal operations. Open to members in the Workers Compensation and Property & Liability programs

David Witham
Dave Witham, Director of Risk Management, has been a member of the Primex3 Risk Management Services Department for 35 years. David holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Safety from Keene State College and holds the Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation though the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research. David is currently an At-Large City Councilor and Deputy Mayor in the City of Somersworth and is the Council’s designee to the City’s Planning Board. David has chaired the City’s Charter Review Commission and served for more than 24 years as a call firefighter and call department crew chief. When not busy at work David enjoys umpiring high school and American Legion Baseball and snowboarding on NH’s slopes.

Nicole Armaganian
Nicole joined Primex in 2018 with a focus on working with members to address their training, consulting, and risk management needs. She has initiated and presented numerous programs related to leadership development. Nicole holds industry designations such as Associate Risk Manager (ARM), Certified Workplace Mediator and Trainer in Conflict Management (CMT), designation in Emotional Intelligence/Quotient (EQ) and High Conflict Influencer (HCI), and is a Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI).
Nicole is a 22-year veteran of law enforcement and retired from the New Hampshire State Police as a Lieutenant serving as Troop Commander of Troop G. She is a graduate of UNH and lives in Concord with her husband and two daughters where she is also the Concord High School Varsity Field Hockey Coach.
